ABOUT OLD RIVER ART

Nestled in a comfortable country acreage in Powhatan, a tucked away haven for creative expression and personal growth, Old River Art reflects a positive "art felt” spirit and offers all participants a space to shine with creativity and encouragement.

The surrounding country landscape is dotted with flowers and herb gardens, birdhouses and natural habitat with a lower walking field and a private creek.

The charming interior of the studio offers a unique atmosphere of natural light and openness among the plants. You can find easels, an array of simple and creative materials to choose from, including paint, collage, fabrics, papers, brushes and recycled materials, clay, pastels, markers, inks, colored pencils and... a cat and a dog or two.

The originator and driving force for Old River Art, Shelley W. Crawford is an artist whose desires are “to use my personal passions for art to encourage others.” In the studio new attitudes and feelings may be expressed. Old River Art is not just a place to paint but is a sanctuary where personal growth and new discoveries are encouraged at each individuals own pace.
